  • Avoid the mid day sun altogether.Wear a hat when you work in the garden or plan to stay outdoors for a while.
  • Don't smoke since smoking is one of the main contributors to premature aging of the skin.
  • Get six to eight hours sleep every night to ensure that your skin gets the time to regenerate.
  • Do not sleep with your face pressed into a pillow. It is best to sleep on your back and while that is a tall order it really helps
  • Drink at least 8 glasses of water each day
  • Avoid processed sugar intake.
  • Do not consume excessive amounts of alcohol as it also dehydrates the skin and affects the blood vessels in your body needed to carry nutrients to the dermis layer of the skin.
  • Eat enough fruits and vegetables to ensure you get Vitamins such as Vitamin C, E and A needed for a healthy skin - they act as anti-oxidants to help fight the effects of pollutants. Also take multivitamin supplements
