What is SkinTyte^™?

The SkinTyte^™ treatment is based on the principle of selective thermolysis and utilizes SCITON 's BBL^™ pulsed light technology to deeply heat your skin while cooling and protecting the entire treated surface. SkinTyte^™ can be provided quickly and comfortably with no downtime. The end result is a more youthful appearance.

How does SkinTyte^™ work?

The SkinTyte^™ procedure utilizes a broadband of light energy to deeply heat dermal collagen. This process promotes partial denaturation and contraction of collagen. The heat also initiates the body's natural healing process, which creates a renewed collagen foundation that leads to increased skin firmness. Powerful cooling maintains the outer surface of your skin at a cool temperature before, during, and after each pulse, providing the patient with a comfortable and safe procedure.

What is the treatment like?

The SkinTyte^™ light energy is delivered in a sequence of rapid, gentle pulses. There is no need for a topical anaesthetic. However, your aesthetic specialist may choose to use one on more sensitive areas. A series of pulses will be repeated over the treatment area to ensure best results. While the face and neck can typically be treated within 30 minutes, actual time will depend on the area that is treated.

What can be expected?

You may experience mild redness in the treated area immediately after, and this should return to normal within minutes. Since the SkinTyte^™ procedure is non-invasive, there is no downtime and you can therefore resume regular activities immediately after treatment. You can also apply make-up and sunscreen after each session.

Similar type procedures, such as those with the Cutera Titan system for skin tightening or resurfacing do not have shorter downtimes, or superior results in any way.

What are the results?

The SkinTyte^™ procedure is not a substitute for a facelift and results may vary from patient to patient. The SkinTyte^™ procedure is recommended for patients who desire moderate, noticeable skin improvement without having to undergo surgery. Full results often take up to four months as the collagen foundation of your skin is rebuilt and strengthened.

Which areas can be treated?

SkinTyte^™ treatments are safe for all skin types and can be performed on any area of the body where an improvement in skin firmness is desired. Popular areas include the face, neck, abdomen, and arms. You should consult your Aesthetic Specialist on the treatment options that are best for you.

How many treatments will I need?

A series of two to three treatments, spaced a month apart, is common with most patients. Your aesthetic specialist will personalize a treatment plan based on the level of improvement you desire. Your aesthetic specialist may also combine SkinTyte^™ with other popular aesthetic procedures to further personalize your treatment.

Will aftercare be needed?

No special skincare regimen is required following treatment. However, patients should always protect their skin from direct sun exposure and should use a good sunscreen. The Aesthetic Specialist will also recommend a home skincare regimen if desired.
