Laser Skin Peel

The PROFILE CONTOUR Laser brings a new approach to skin peels.

What is CONTOUR?

The CONTOUR system's combination of two lasers sets a new standard for laser skin peels, your Aesthetic Specialist to precisely vary the depth and the effect of your laser treatment. Your peel will be tailored to match your skin condition and desired result.

Which Conditions Can Be Treated With CONTOUR?

  • Wrinkles
  • Epidermal nevi
  • Acne scars
  • Solar lentigines
  • Actinic keratoses
  • Hypertrophic scars
  • Surgical scars

What Will The CONTOUR Laser Do?

Your Aesthetic Specialist will use CONTOUR to remove thin layers of your skin's surface, which will be replaced by younger skin growth. Only CONTOUR has the ability to provide a treatment that is optimized to our skin condition. Your wrinkles will soften and become less noticeable; some will disappear. Pigmented lesions will greatly improve.

Which Areas Can Be Treated?

Most skin areas can be treated. Popular areas are the face, neck, chest, and hands. Discuss your needs with your Aesthetic Specialist.

How Long Does Recovery Take?

Your healing time will depend upon your actual treatment depth. You may experience erythema (redness), which may last several weeks. Healing time varies among individuals. Your Aesthetic Specialist can answer questions about temporary changes to your skin colour and how this can be camouflaged.

What Should Be Expected After Treatment?

It will take a few days to replace the outer layer of your skin. Redness is common, and swelling may be present in the areas that are treated. However, this should subside in a few hours. Your Aesthetic Specialist will instruct you on how best to care for your healing skin. Your skin will have a residual pink or red colour that will resolve over time.

Will It Be Uncomfortable?

The amount of discomfort varies from patient to patient. Your Aesthetic Specialist will discuss your anaesthesia options so as to properly manage any discomfort from the treatment.

Is There A Risk?

Following the correct aftercare procedures prescribed by your Aesthetic Specialist will reduce the risk of infection. You will return to your Aesthetic Specialist for follow-up visits to ensure excellent healing.

What Will Happen During The Procedure?

Your Aesthetic Specialist will administer anaesthesia after discussing the options with you. Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses.

CONTOUR laser beam will be delivered through a computer-controlled device that automatically scans the area of your skin that is being treated. You may hear a snapping or popping noise as the laser beam gently removes the outer skin cells.

Your procedure will take 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the area that is being treated and the depth of your peel.

Will Aftercare Be Needed?

It is important to follow your Aesthetic Specialist's instructions. You will be given some skincare products and instructions on how to use them. This will minimize your risk of infection and ensure the shortest healing time. The top layer of your skin will re-grow and can be covered with make-up on about one week.

Your new skin will be very sensitive to ultraviolet light and you must avoid sun exposure until fully healed. You need to cover your skin, wear a hat, and use good sunscreen when you go outdoors.
