What causes Underarm Hyperhidrosis
Many people seek answers to “what causes underarm/ hyperhidrosis?” The simplest answer to the question is – overactive sweat glands. It is however, slightly more complicated than that. The hypothalamus in the brain sends messages to the nerves regarding sweating and the nerves send the messages to the sweat glands. When the process doesn’t work as it should, the sweat glands produce more sweat than required and do so even when there is no need for sweating. The most effective treatment for the condition is Botox® which blocks the messages and thus stops the excessive sweating. Two to four treatments may be required a year, but considering the benefits and the safety of the treatments, it is a viable solution to the problem.
